![]() ![]() I have my computer set to show hidden folder, yet there is no local settings folder visible in my jonathang folder, and if I try to enter the path in the address field it tells me that access is denied, despite the fact I'm an administrator on this computer. The local settings\application data path, however, I can't even get to. Now, I've actually browsed out to the appdata path and deleted that chromeupdate.crx file myself, and seen it gone, and then ran another malwarebytes scan, and it shows up again. The next day, I ran another scan, figuring I'll run daily scans for now until I'm sure things are cool. I updated and ran malwarebytes, and it found things it identified as trojans, 4 of them. I'm unsure if this is connected to the current issue or not, but it led me to running a malwarebytes scan and keeping a closer eye on things. I did manage to remove this extension, and it hasn't come back. This led me to finding an extension that I didn't add, which would come back after a full uninstall/reinstall of firefox, which someone identified as malware.
